The latest robotic production line processes, robotic welding, a wide range of power presses and other machines are available at GMT.
The contract to supply the type 560 hook-in sleeper for Network Rail is now well underway and a steady production rate has been established. Investment in tooling and equipment along with a second stand-by sleeper finishing line means that GMT is well equipped to handle increased volumes, if required.
Steel sleepers are proven to be efficient and economic. Installation and maintenance costs are significantly lower than concrete, old ballast can remain in place and new ballast requirements are reduced. The low profile design is easy to handle, stack, and transport by road or rail. Steel sleepers can be manually or machine laid.
